The dialogue, line by line

1. Selamat datang di kelas memasak.
   Welcome to the cooking class.
2. Hari ini kita membuat ketupat dan sate.
   Today we are making ketupat and satay.
3. Ketupat itu apa, Bu?
   What is ketupat?
4. Nasi yang dibungkus daun, lalu direbus lama.
   Rice wrapped in leaves, then boiled for a long time.
5. Bumbunya apa saja?
   What spices are used?
6. Bawang putih, garam, dan sedikit asam.
   Garlic, salt and a little tamarind.
7. Satenya dibakar di atas arang?
   Is the satay grilled over charcoal?
8. Betul. Sambil satenya dibakar, kita mencampur bumbu lalu mengaduk saus kacang.
   Correct. While the satay grills, we mix the spices and stir the peanut sauce.
9. Boleh pakai mentega?
   Can we use butter?
10. Tidak biasa di sini, tapi boleh dicoba.
    It is not usual here, but you can try.
11. Kenapa masakan Indonesia banyak rasanya?
    Why does Indonesian food have so many flavours?
12. Karena setiap daerah menciptakan resep sendiri.
    Because each region creates its own recipes.
13. Menarik. Saya mau mencoba dan melatih keterampilan ini dengan memasaknya di rumah.
    Interesting. I want to practise this skill by cooking it at home.
14. Bagus. Masakan mewakili budaya kita.
    Good. Food represents our culture.
