Grammar · A1
Time: sudah, sedang, akan, belum
Indonesian has no tenses. Instead, small words mark time.
How it works
Since verbs don't change, you show past/present/future with time words: • sudah, already (past/completed) • sedang, currently (in-progress) • akan, will (future) • belum, not yet • pernah, ever (experience)
Examples
- Saya sudah makan.
I have already eaten. - Dia sedang bekerja.
He/She is (currently) working. - Kami akan pergi besok.
We will go tomorrow. - Saya belum siap.
I'm not ready yet. - Pernah ke Bali?
Have you ever been to Bali?
